Buying food

The average household spends £424 a year on food that goes into the bin.  Throwing food to landfill produces methane which is 20 times more powerful than CO2.  You can cut down your waste by:

  • choosing food with less packaging
  • cutting down food waste
  • compost any waste food

You should also try to buy food that is produced locally.  For information on local producers click on Local Produce above.

For information on seasonal produce click on Seasonal food in the menu on the left.
