Composting

The UK produces 30 million tonnes of waste every year, which includes 38% organic waste including vegetable peelings, tea bags and food waste.  You can reduce the amount of waste you produce by making your own compost from kitchen and garden waste.

You can put a many things in your compost bin including vegetable and fruit waste, tea bags, old flowers and garden waste.

You shouldn't put cooked food, meat, fish, dairy produce and newpapers in your compost bin.
